On Monday we went and explored the historic Brunner Mine site, we learned lots off great stuff e.g
From where the miners entered and exited the mine. We also had a look at the ovens and learnt how they worked, it was very fun we also got to have a look under the old ovens that they no longer used due the they had built bigger ovens that contain more coke. It was a very cool experience and we even got to do a play where there was two of the rescuers who were carrying a dead body on a stretcher. I was the dead person getting carried out by the rescuers that had inhaled lots of gas in their lungs.

Brunner Mine History

This week we have continued reading the 'Mines Afire' now, at the moment. Tommys father Da has been carted out on a old coal truck when young Tommy made the discovery of his Da's red striped sock, that pointed out of his shoes. His heart sunk, his Da was 1 of the 3 dead on the back of the coal stone cold. Then Da moved his foot and Tom saw it, He streaked with joy, Da was alive.
He darted to his mam, hes alive.

Out off school I play Rugby league for the W-raukau Hornets. Last weekend we were fortunate to play against Haswall Hornerts who travelled over from Canterbury. We played 2 matches, the 1st game on Saturday at the WCRL Feild West Coast Rugby League. It was a close game however we pulled away 34-04. The next game saw me have to get up at 7.45 to play at 9 o'clock. We started of really well, we broke out to a 24-00 nil lead a halftime, then we scored three tries in the second half  for a 38-00 nil win. We won both matches, well played Halswall.

Favourite Song

Today we had to pick our favourite song and explain why we like it. I chose the Baby Shark song because it is annoying but it has a good beat.

Art

Over the past 6 weeks we have been working on Art. We drew all things that we like such as sports Date of birth and other things that are special to us here is a photo off my Art. The next step is to cut it out on a black sheet of paper.

Act of Kindness award
